IT'S DOT'S PARTY AND SHE'LL WHINGE IF SHE WANTS TO
Dot spends most of the episode having an existential crisis about working in the laundrette for so long. When they have a party for her (and give her a goddamn carriage clock – if anyone ever gives me a carraige clock for any reason then I will smack them in the head with it) she has a panic attack and makes everyone leave. She has a lengthy conversation with Poline about how her life has been a waste. She never wanted to be a laundress, she wanted to be a lumberjack! or a teacher. Poline says that Dot helped people for years with her lengthy chats, second hand high-tar smoke and condescending Christian judgementalness. (she only says the first one though…). Dot roams the streets a bit then decides that yes, everyone does love her and goes to the vic. Everyone cheers and her little face lights up.
In other news, a northern baldy bloke shows up looking for Fill. In the end he speaks to Billy and warns him that Dan Sullivan is back. Dun Dun Dunnn! There is some boring nonsense about Shazza trying to excite Vickney with a family tree project. Sham takes to her bed like a Victorian lady with nerves after being rejected by Rickay. fool manages to make the most harlottic barmaid resign by having AGary sexually objectify her in front of her possessive boyfriend. I kept hoping that possessive boyfriend would punch AGary but he didn't. Damn. Also Bizarro-Robbie mocks MYGus for various reasons.
Finally, Bazza spends the whole episode saying “Can we have another baby yet? Can we? Can we? No pressure but can we have another baby?” In the end Nat says yes and Barry says “Let’s have sex right now!” Doh! Later on there is a shot of Nat sat on the stairs rubbing herself down with bleach and a brillo pad while Bazza’s whiney little voice can be heard pleading for her to come back to bed. Ewwwwwww.
