It is Baz and Nat’s anniversary and also New Year’s Eve. Baz wears a horrible cowboy shirt and string tie and sings to Natalie. Natalie wears a leather waistcoat thing and apparently has laminated her hair. They decide to go out to Angie’s Box to celebrate.
Rickay is giving out flyers for the club. He invites Nanny along.

Sonia is sad.

The Slaters moan about Simpleton. Simpleton keeps muttering to AGary “If I’m going down I’m taking you with me!” type things. Agary: “Oh my god, you’re EVILLLL!” Sullen (who should not wear her hair up like that) flaps around oblivious and plans a romantic holiday with AGary.

Teen tries to be all supportive to Slutty and Dr Perv but then moans to Kellay about them behind their backs. Teen and Kellay are going to the NYE thing and ask if Slutty wants to go too. Fool is annoying a lot but then some dodgy ex copper comes into the pub and blackmails him for free drinks and pork scratchings and Fool is sad. Backstreet attempts to woo Kellay, who is a man eater or something.

At the NYE Party, Sham is all bossy and businesslike. Maybe she went to the same “Management School for Glamorous Blondes” as Mel and Jacqui Dixon off Brookside. Nanny gets drunk really quickly and admits that she has wrongful, lusty thoughts about Fill and Rickay (though not at the same time, one hopes). She dances and flirts with Rickay but Rickay only has eyes for Natalie. Baz puts his back out whilst dad-dancing and after he has gone, Nat and Rickay have a snog on the fire escape.
Pat’s Counselling Centre for Fallen Women: she advises Simpleton to grovel to Ian and beg to be taken back. Simpleton grovels but in a really annoying way where she doesn’t actually apologise and instead implies that Ian has to take her back because Simpleton is being inconvenienced. Ian promises that he’ll take her back if she says who the father is. Simpleton admits that it was AGary and Ian says “Ha ha! Only joking!” and throws her out.
